On 24 April 2025, Nesma Infrastructure and Technology (NIT) signed a new contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for the interconnection of the Nawaryah substation with Makkah north BSP in Makkah Al-Mukaromah, western region (underground portion) and retirement of 110 KV al Otaiba, Kudai Muzdalfa road &amp; Khariq Ul Oshar substations in western operating area, valued at over SAR 90 million.

The scope of work for the contract includes the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing &amp; Commissioning, and Energization of the High-Voltage transmission substation along with its connection to the Saudi National Grid on a lump sum turnkey basis with a delivery time of 18 Months.
