During the Saudi visit to the People’s Republic of China, representatives from Nesma Infrastructure & Technology had the opportunity to attend a live demonstration of an advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) powered by emerging technologies and innovative solutions. The demonstration showcased the UAV’s ability to detect and track aerial targets in real time using laser-based technology.

The presentation included a detailed overview of the UAV’s operational capabilities and deployment process, featuring a practical demonstration in which the aircraft carried and tracked a small metallic target over a distance of several kilometers. The Nesma Infrastructure & Technology team was also able to assess the system’s efficiency and operational capabilities firsthand, gaining valuable insight into its real-world performance and effectiveness.

Such visits play an important role in enhancing understanding of emerging technologies and exploring innovative solutions that support knowledge transfer, foster strategic technology partnerships, and promote the localization of advanced technologies, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
