Our History
1988
Established Nesma Infrastructure and Technology (NIT) under the name National Telecommunications Co. Ltd. "NATEL"
1992
NATEL designed, built, tested, and supplied two NOS 100MVA transformers, battery chargers, and spare parts to what was known at the time as the Saudi Ministry of Defense and Aviation.
1993
NATEL awarded a contract by the Saudi Electricity Company to design, build, supply, and deploy telemetry systems for the Makkah Water Project, the Saudi Electricity Company in Jeddah, and for projects in Makkah’s Ajyad and Mina districts..
1994
NATEL designed and built projects for the Saudi Electricity Company and the Saline Water Conversion Corporation in Jeddah, Makkah, and Riyadh.
1995
NATEL began, built, supplied and deploied a telemetry system for the Makkah Water Project.
NATEL supplied, installed, tested, and deploied 13.8KV circuit breakers, transformers, and battery chargers for the Saline Water Conversion Corporation
1996
NATEL signed a major contract with Lucent Technology for a TEP-6 project to supply high-voltage switchgears to the General Authority for Civil Aviation
NATEL supplied electrical power transformers in downtown Jeddah;
NATEL installed 380/13.8 kilovolts transformers for the Saudi Electricity Company in Rabigh;
NATEL installed load shedding control panels, circuit brakers, and other miscellaneous equipment for Al Haider Company in Rahima.
NATEL supplied, tested, installed and deployed 20 NOS cast resin transformers in Makkah for Saudi Binladin Group.
1997
NATEL commenced supplying the Saudi Royal Air Force, in collaboration with the Saudi Electricity Company,
1998
NATEL deployed a centralized distributed control system at Iskan Al Aamn AlMadinah in collaboration with the Saudi Electricity Company
1999
NATEL supplied two NOS 110/13.8 KV 40MVA transformers to Saudi Electricty company in Rabigh. VA TECH SAT becomes the first distributed control System with full redundancy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2000
NATEL prepared a database for new substations in Jeddah Neighborhoods.
NATEL gained IOS9001 certification.
2001
NATEL supplied electrical power to the Royal Saudi Navy at King Abdulaziz Naval Base in Jubail.
2002
NATEL commenced work on upgrading a power plant for Saudi Aramco in Abqaiq.
2003
NATEL worked with the Saudi Electricity Company to ensure electrical power continuity and extension of exiting projects at the district level.
2004
NATEL laid 30,000 kilometers of fiber optic networks across the Kingdom; and Supplied Taif Airport with power transformers.
2005
NATEL integrated a new steam and power generator unit at the Yanbu Refinery for Saudi Aramco.
2006
NATEL built new, and upgraded existing bulk plants for Saudi Aramco in Sulayil and Al-Qassim in order to facilitate the supply of two grades of gasoline;
2007
NATEL gained ISO18001 Certification
2008
NATEL commenced work with Boeing on RSAF EMBDAD "Tapestry Solutions" program.
2009
NATEL commenced the building of four bridges, installing utility distribution facilities and a road network with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology'
2010
NATEL collaborated with Ma'aden and Dragados Industrial to build adi-ammonium phosphate plant at Raz Az Zawr.
2011
Changed its name to Nesma National Telecommunication NNT.
2012
NNT awarded a contract with the Ministry of Medical for the operation and maintenance of fourteen (14) radio stations in the Kingdom.
2013
NNT won accreditation by the Saudi Electricity Company as a substation contractor for transmission and distribution substations and underground cables. NNT Built a new 110/13.8kV substation at Jeddah Islamic Port
2014
NNT rebranded to Nesma Telecom and Technology NT&T
2015
NT&T awarded a contract with the National Information Center with IGAPE Project to exchange, host and analyze data between the National Information Center and all government agencies through well-established interfaces.
2016
Gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) extension for the Saudi Electricity Company By NT&T.
2017
NT&T won an Accreditation by the Saudi Electricity company as substation contractor for transmission & distribution substations and underground cables.
2018
NT&T won ESCO accreditation by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center. Commences on a citywide project to replace traditional street light bulbs in Jeddah with LED units
2019
NT&T began supplying electrical power to the Royal Saudi Navy at King Abdul-Aziz Naval Base in Jubail.
2020
NT&T awarded the first contract with NEOM for a fixed line network infrastructure project.
2021
NT&T partners with Boeing on as Emdad support project for the Royal Saudi Airforce.
2022
NT&T Rebranded its name as Nesma Infrastructure and Technology "NIT".
2023
NIT signed a new thirty (30) month contract with Saudi Aramco to provide wastewater transfer facilities in Ras Tanura.
2024
NIT has signed an agreement regarding the main utilities on Farasan Island with the Saudi Electricity Company.
